The 2021 racing season at the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway is just around the corner, and with it comes some new changes and some familiar faces returning for another season at the Biggest Little Track in the USA.

One of the biggest changes for the 2021 season will include a new race director, albeit someone quite familiar with racing at the Clyde. Mike Knappenberger will slide into the role for the upcoming campaign. Knappenberger, 65, has been around racing his entire life, capturing racing at more than 1,100 different tracks. He has been a race photographer for Area Auto Racing News (AARN) since the early 1970s and has been the track photographer at the Clyde for the past seven years. Knappenberger also started and oversees the Race Chasing Award Program, which has paid more than $70,000 in awards at various tracks over the past five years. Knappenberger has previous officiating experience at Nazareth National Speedway and Susquehanna Speedway (now BAPS Motor Speedway). Knappenberger is committed to overseeing safe racing for all drivers in his race director role.

Another noticeable change will be a new public address/race announcer for the 2021 season. Kasey Kreider will take over the role for the upcoming season. Kreider, 19, has similarly been around racing for his entire life, racing quarter midgets as a kid and following racing at all levels ever since. Kreider debuted as the announcer at the Clyde last season for the first night of the Labor Day Shootout and was also the announcer for the final two races of the year. He has additionally served as the announcer at Linda’s Speedway and was the announcer at the 100-lap Battle at the Bullring at Airport Speedway in November. Kreider is excited to bring a fresh flavor to the tower in 2021, in his first full-time season as the voice of the Clyde.

The Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway is also proud to welcome back Not Your Momma’s Kitchen as the official concession stand provider of the Clyde for the 2021 season. They will once again provide a full menu of food and non-alcoholic drink options for fans and teams during each event. The Clyde will also proudly welcome back the Kim’s Kreations Novelty Stand, which will provide t-shirts, photographs, and other apparel for fans throughout the course of the season.

Hyper Racing will return for another season as the official title sponsor for the 600s, while the Sportsman division picks up a new title sponsor for 2021, with Fleetwood, PA’s Skeet Craft Collision hopping aboard for what promises to be a fun and competitive season.

The countdown clock to the first green flag of 2021 is almost over! Finalize your plans now to attend the season-opening No Wing Spring Fling on Saturday, April 3rd!
